Remember that toy piano that played music which you had when you were little? Remember the lullabies that it played. Did you know that most of them were probably classical songs?
While it is a myth that playing classical songs to babies and unborn children will increase their intelligence (for more information on this, read this article by Scientific American), playing classical music to little children may give them a love of the genre, which could lead them to playing an instrument. THIS, has been proven to increase a person’s intelligence, hand-eye coordination, executive function, language skills, and more.
But in any case, I feel nostalgic when I hear a classical song that I heard when I was young. So here is a list of 12 classical songs that you (probably) heard when you were little, and other classical songs that are great for babies:
.) Brahms’s Lullaby by Johannes Brahms
.) Piano Sonata No. 16 in C Major by Wolfgang A. Mozart
.) Cannon in D Major (Pachelbel’s Cannon) by Johann Pachelbel
.) Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang A. Mozart
.) Für Elise by Ludwig van Beethoven
.) Turkish March (Rondo Alla Turca and Sonata No. 11) by Wolfgang A. Mozart
.) Spring from the Four Seasons (Concerto No. 1) by Antonio Vivaldi
.) William Tell Overture by Gioachino Rossini
.) Morning Mood by Edvard Grieg
.) Minuet 3 by Johann S. Bach
.) Minuet 1 by Johann S. Bach
.) The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II
